These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MyAleef mobile application and related services. By checking the box "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service" and proceeding to create an account, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
1. Overview
MyAleef provides a platform for pet owners to engage in social networking, community building, and pet-related services.
Important: MyAleef is a social platform. The commercial sale of live animals is strictly prohibited.
2. Eligibility and Account Requirements
2.1 Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years of age to use MyAleef. We do not knowingly collect data from or allow registration for individuals under 18.
2.2 Account Security & Deletion
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and credentials.
- Account Deletion: You may initiate the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time via the "Settings" menu within the App.
2.3 Pet Ownership Verification
- You must be the legal owner or authorized guardian of any pets you register
- You must provide accurate information about your pets
- You are responsible for ensuring your pets are properly vaccinated and healthy
- False information about pet ownership or health may result in account termination
3. Business/Professional Accounts
3.1 Professional Account Types
MyAleef supports professional accounts for pet care service providers, including but not limited to:
- Pet Groomers
- Pet Walkers
- Pet Sitters
- Pet Trainers
3.2 Professional Account Features
- Professional accounts may display a professional badge on their profile
- Users may recommend professional service providers through a recommendation system
- Professional profiles may display the number of recommendations received (e.g., "Recommended by X users")
3.3 Professional Liability and App Responsibility
IMPORTANT: Professional service providers are fully and exclusively liable for all services they offer through or in connection with MyAleef.
MyAleef acts solely as an intermediary platform that facilitates introductions between pet owners and professional service providers. MyAleef:
- Does not provide, endorse, or guarantee any professional services
- Does not assume any responsibility for the quality, safety, or outcome of professional services
- Does not verify, certify, or warrant the qualifications, credentials, or background of professional service providers
- Is not responsible for any disputes, damages, injuries, or losses arising from professional services
3.4 User Recommendations
- Recommendations are user-generated and reflect individual user experiences
- MyAleef does not verify or endorse recommendations
- Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence when selecting professional service providers
3.5 Professional Account Requirements
- Professional accounts must provide accurate information about their services
- Professional accounts must comply with all applicable local laws, regulations, and licensing requirements
- False or misleading information may result in account termination
4. Use of the App
4.1 Permitted Uses
You may use the app to create profiles, search for and connect with other owners, participate in chats, share pet-related media, and use location-based features for matching and community events.
4.2 Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to:
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Facilitate the commercial sale of live animals
- Use the app for unauthorized commercial purposes or spam
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Share inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
- Use automated systems to access the app
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Use the app for any harmful or malicious purpose
5. User Content and Moderation
5.1 Content Ownership
- You retain ownership of content you create and share
- By sharing content, you grant MyAleef a license to display, distribute, and modify it as necessary for app functionality
- You represent that you have the right to share any content you post
5.2 Content Guidelines
- All content must be appropriate and related to pets or pet ownership
- No nudity, violence, or inappropriate material
- Respect other users' privacy and boundaries
- Report inappropriate content to our support team
5.3 Content Moderation
- Reporting: Built-in tools allow users to Block and Report objectionable content/users
- Review: MyAleef will review all reports and remove violating content or accounts within 24 hours
- Moderation: A moderation system is set up to review all submitted content by users and we reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any content
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for content violations
6. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy. By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge how we collect and use your information, including:
- Location Data: Used only with your consent for matching
- Data Deletion: You have the right to delete your account and data via the app settings at any time
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 App Content
- All app content (design, code, features, logo) is owned by MyAleef
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute app content without permission
7.2 User Content
- You retain ownership of content you create
- You grant us a license to use your content for app functionality
- You may not use other users' content without their permission
8. Third-Party Services
The app utilizes third-party providers (e.g., Firebase, Google Maps, Apple, GIPHY). MyAleef is not responsible for the performance, accuracy, or privacy practices of these third parties. Your interactions with them are subject to their own respective terms.
9. Safety and Security
9.1 User Safety
- Meet in public places for initial pet interactions
- Inform others about your plans when meeting new people
- Trust your instincts and report suspicious behavior
- Never share financial information or send money to other users
9.2 Pet Safety
- Ensure all pets are properly vaccinated and healthy
- Supervise all pet interactions
- Follow local laws regarding pet ownership and breeding
- Report any concerns about pet welfare
9.3 App Security
- We implement security measures to protect your data
- Report security vulnerabilities to our support team
- Use strong passwords and keep your account secure
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 Service Availability
- The app is provided "as is" without warranties
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free operation
- We may modify or discontinue features at any time
10.2 User Interactions
- We are not responsible for user-to-user interactions
- We do not guarantee successful matches or connections
- Users interact at their own risk
10.3 Pet-Related Risks
- We are not responsible for pet health, behavior, or welfare
- Users are responsible for their pets' safety and well-being
- We do not provide veterinary or pet health care treatment
10.4 Professional Services Risks
- We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcome of any professional services (grooming, walking, sitting, training) offered by professional account holders
- Professional service providers are fully and exclusively liable for all services they provide
- We do not verify, certify, or warrant the qualifications, credentials, or background of professional service providers
- Users engage professional service providers at their own risk
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyAleef, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the app
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your interactions with other users
- Your pet behaviour with other users or other user pets
- Any professional services you provide (if you hold a professional account) or disputes arising from professional services you receive
12. Termination
12.1 Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations
- Account termination may result in loss of data and connections
12.2 Effect of Termination
- Your right to use the app ceases immediately
- We may retain certain data as required by law
- Some provisions of these Terms survive termination
13. Modifications
13.1 Terms Updates
- We may update these Terms at any time
- Material changes will be communicated through the app
- we will require you to check a new consent box before you can continue using the app
13.2 App Updates
- We may update the app with new features or improvements
- Some updates may require acceptance of new terms
- We may discontinue support for older app versions
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Tunisia without regard to conflict of law principles.
14.2 Dispute Process
- Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
- Class action waivers apply where legally permitted
- You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of account creation
